October SEL - Word Of The Month is Kindness & Character Trait is Inclusion

The October word of the month is kindness and the character trait is inclusion. How this will be implemented? Students and counselors will make a “committed to kindness” in all Social Studies classes. We will hold adults and students accountable by referring to commitments if / when being unkind. Dejanee, our YCMA Counselor, is hosting a social skills group for students struggling to be included. What you can do in your home? Have your child work with different pairs/groups to promote inclusion and give acknowledgement when you witness acts of kindness. View our Pointer Way pillars for more information about our SEL program.
