Congrat Costume Contest Winners!

We would like to thank all of the students who showed Pointer Pride on Friday, October 29th by wearing their costumes to school. The Dana ASB and Instrumental Music programs conducted a costume contest at lunch. Winners include:

Dana Theater Students Perform “The Haunting of Dana” Online

With covid restrictions the theater class is not allowed to perform in the theater so we decided to make a Halloween movie for the school. Please click this link to watch our show. It lasts about 18 minutes.

Friends of Dana and Correia would like to invite you to the first fun community event! Dana Movie Night!

When: Friday, November 12 at 5:30pm

Where: Dana Middle School Blacktop

What: Fun Family event! With movie snacks and socializing (at 6 foot distance, of course)

Important Note:  THIS IS NOT A DROP OFF EVENT.  CHILDREN MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT. We ask you to limit 3 Children per adult.  We need kids to be supervised, please.

Food & Drink: Pizza (Gluten Free Option available), Popcorn, Candy, and Drinks will be available to purchase to support the Friends of Dana and Correia.  So, plan to join us for dinner!

Bring your chairs or blankets and come to enjoy a movie under the stars with your friends!

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to make this fun!  We will be sending out a sign up genius later this week, but think about how you may be able to help!  We will break into shifts so you and a spouse/friend can trade off and volunteer for an hour and have fun for the rest of the time.  Kids can volunteer as well, if accompanied by a parent.

We will be looking for volunteer teams/individuals to own or volunteer in the following jobs Please let Colleen Cook or Elissa Hoehn know that you are interested in helping out! At [email protected] or [email protected].

Yearbooks For Sale Online!

Dana Middle has implemented a new online program for purchasing school-related items such as yearbooks and lost textbooks. The system is called School Cash Online and is approved by the SDUSD Finances Department. Parents must register for a School Cash Online account. The account will follow the student as they matriculate to Correia and Point Loma High School.

Dana families can reserve their copy of our 2021-22 yearbook using this system. Yearbooks are on sale for $32.00. Click this link for more information!

Parents wishing to use a traditional method for ordering yearbooks can contact Finance Secretary Theresa Jordan at [email protected] for information on paying with cash or a check. Checks should be made payable to Dana Middle School ASB.

Students can also use this system to pay for lost textbooks. Please contact Theresa Jordan ([email protected]) or Marta Thiele ([email protected]) with questions.

Principal Coffee November 4th @ Dana

Join us at the Principal's Coffee on Thursday, November 4th from 9 to 9:30 AM to engage in dialog about the work taking place at Dana. Every other month Principal Irwin and Vice Principal Perkins meet informally with parents who want to chat about events, share comments, and ask questions related to Dana Middle School. The meetings follow an informal format where parents have an opportunity to obtain accurate information about questions and concerns. Please view the calendar invite for more information.

IMPORTANT: We alternate between online and in-person formats for this meeting. The November meeting will be held in-person in Room 103. Please stop by the front office to check-in.

Our meetings are held during the first week in September, November, January, March, and May. Please visit our online calendar to view meeting dates and formats for any given month.

Annual Giving Kick-Off Nov. 1st

Hello Dana and Correia Middle School Families! The Friends of Dana and Correia Middle Schools parent association is gearing up our annual giving campaign, and we hope this year will be our biggest fundraiser ever for our schools. The annual giving fundraiser kicks off Monday, November 1st and runs through Monday, November 29th and our goal is to raise $30,000! Click here for more information.


PLCSF Wants Community Input on Future Parent Education Topics


The Point Loma Cluster Schools Foundation is focused on providing opportunities for parents and staff to engage in learning together around topics that impact our children. We are soliciting input from parents regarding topics for future PLCSF meetings. Please take this short survey. Responses will be shared with the PL Community.
