To all current and incoming Dana and Correia parents,
Did you know?
The last few years, Dana Middle School and FODAC have sponsored a Lego Robotics club and that school teams compete in the FIRST Lego League (FLL) Challenge competition every fall. Correia students have also been welcome to join as participation in this activity helps students improve upon foundational coding and robotics principles, before they can eventually join a Robotics team at the high school level.
***Last year Dana/Correia had 3 teams competing in FLL!**
While Dana administration and FODAC support this program by providing the space and equipment, this is an entirely PARENT coached activity. ALL PARENTS of students who are participating need to attend practices and support students to be successful. The FLL season runs August to November/December (depending on how far the team advances in the competition) and practices are typically held after-school 2x/week during this period. There are some costs associated with registering a team for competition, which the club can provide assistance with for families that may need it. For more information see the video and information on this link:

Past year's coaches are willing to help mentor new parents and coaches to get teams off the ground at
Correia and Dana. If you have an interest after reviewing what this is all about, fill out the interest
form and you will be contacted with more information in early August. Again, remember that we need
parents willing to coach teams. Team size maximum per competition rules is 10, but ideal size is
probably around 4-6, so we need parent coaches willing to take this on.
