Only for current 5th graders

In today’s assembly (11/27/23), we discussed Elective Options for the 24-25 school year. Students can now sign up and list their top five preferences by Google Form sign up form

 This form is also posted on the Dana website under the For Students and For Parents tabs. This form will be due by 12/8/23. Please read the directions carefully as some classes require an application such as ASB Leadership and Journalism. These application links are also on the Dana website under the For Parents and For Students tabs. 

For current 6th graders

Mr Kupper the principal of Correia and student representatives presented Elective course options to our current 6th graders today. He will send a Google Form to all Dana 6th grade parents and guardians today for students to choose their Electives from. This form is due by December 6th. 

E-Bike Safety Course 

Circulate San Diego is going to be at Dana on December 4th from 3:00 – 4:30 (See attached flyer). RSVP is required, the google form to register is here -

ASB Update

 Mrs. Field Cookie Dough Orders arriving week of December 11 - 15

Be ready to pick up all cookie dough orders between 1:45 - 2:45 pm during the week of December 11.  ASB is awaiting confirmation of the specific date and families will be notified as soon as possible.  Delivery date TBD.  Cookie dough arrives frozen and must be kept frozen; so, please make arrangements to pick up your child on the delivery date.  

 Mrs. Field Cookie Dough Prize Event Friday, December 15, 2023

All students who earned prizes from selling orders will be invited to participate in the prize event during school on Friday, December 15.  On the day of the event, students will receive individual tickets to attend and redeem for their prizes.  5th graders who earned a prize will attend the event during period 5, and 6th graders will attend the prize event during period 6.  

 San Diego Food Bank Food Drive November 27 - December 8. 2023

The Dana ASB is coordinating a food drive for two weeks to benefit the San Diego Food Bank.  Students are encouraged to bring in food donations to their period 1 class.  Non-perishable items only, please.  No glass containers or homemade donations will be accepted.  The period 1 class who brings in the most donations will win donuts for their entire class! 

 Adopt a Dana Family November 27 - December 8. 2023 (in participating classes only)

Help make this holiday season a little brighter for families in our own school community.  Some classrooms are participating in adopting a Dana family and are hoping you will donate a gift.  The selected families are overwhelmed and in need of our support.  (Names are kept anonymous to allow for privacy.)  Participating classrooms gave students a letter to take home with details about their specific family regarding needs, wants, and sizes.  Please ask your child if they received this letter and have them share it with you.  Students should bring the gift donation to their participating classroom.  

 If your child’s class is not participating but you’d like to give, some general donation ideas could include grocery gift cards, hygiene products, or household items like blankets, and Target/Walmart gift cards.  General donations can be dropped off with the ASB advisor, Mrs. O’Hern in room 221.  

 Our community is strong at coming together to help support those struggling within our own school, and your generous gifts are genuinely appreciated.  Go Dana!
