Tuesday, January 11 is Music Day 

Students and staff are encouraged to dress up as their favorite music artist, band group, instrument, or any other creative music idea. ASB will be on the upper field during both lunches for students to participate in a few rounds of musical chairs.  Staff is encouraged to come down and play too!

FODAC Meeting January 11th

Dana SGT to Review Discipline Policy & Dress Code

The Dana Site Governance Team is responsible for annually reviewing and providing guidance on our site discipline policy. This policy includes the Student Dress Code Policy. You can review the policy beginning on page 6 of the Dana Student Planner 2021-2022, and an online version of the entire policy can be found here.


Our Site Governance Team will meet on Wednesday, January 26 from 3:00 to 3:45 to review and discuss this policy. We are encouraging parents and staff members to attend our January meeting for the purpose of providing feedback on this issue. We have allocated 30 minutes for guests to share comments regarding this topic. Each speaker will be allowed two minutes. 


Community members who are unable to attend the meeting are encouraged to share their thoughts in writing using a google form. (Click this link to access the feedback form). You can remain anonymous if you choose. Responses collected via this form will be reviewed by the Dana SGT. Please submit all comments prior to Friday, January 28th.

Dental Services For Students

Give Kids A Smile 2022 is taking place February 14 – March 7 throughout San Diego County. Attached is a flier in English and Spanish.

Children ages 18 and under can schedule a dental screening, fluoride varnish, and sealants at NO COST.

  • Fluoride varnish and sealants are painless and help prevent cavities.
  • Children can get a Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment completed.
  • Appointments are required. Offices have limited spaces available.Children can schedule an appointment at any listed dental office.
  • Click on https://sdcds.org and then click ‘Parents and Families’ to see the list of participating dental offices.

 There are about 40 participating dental offices throughout San Diego County. They are being added to the list as they confirm dates and times for their event. 

This is a no-cost event. Children can participate if they do or do not have insurance and do not have to show proof of citizenship. Families can call 619-692-8858 with questions.

Let’s Get Social At Lunch In January

Come and join the Get Social Club every Tuesday during lunch. Play games and meet other students, or come and hangout with your friends in the Library. This is a great opportunity to make connections with other students, and a fun way to spend your recess time.
