No School November 11th

Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Unlike Memorial Day, Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans—living or dead—but especially gives thanks to living veterans who served their country honorably during war or peacetime.

Please Leave Birthday Cupcakes At Home

We have noticed an increase in students attempting to bring trays of cupcakes and cookies to school as part of their own birthday celebration. Please do not allow your child to do this. Cupcakes and cookies are unhealthy and cause a substantial disruption on campus. In addition, COVID protocols prohibit this behavior. Staff will confiscate cupcakes and cookies brought to school

COVID Update

Please remind your student about the following layers of mitigation and send them to school prepared:

  •  As the weather cools down, students should bring a jacket or wear appropriate clothes to school, as classroom windows will be left open.
  •  Wash hands or hand sanitize when entering school, before lunch, and after recess.
  • Facemasks should be worn over mouth and nose. Gators offer the least amount of protection and must be double layered, so they are not recommended.

Yearbooks For Sale Online!

Dana Middle has implemented a new online program for purchasing school-related items such as yearbooks and lost textbooks. The system is called School Cash Online and is approved by the SDUSD Finances Department. Parents must register for a School Cash Online account. The account will follow the student as they matriculate to Correia and Point Loma High School.

Dana families can reserve their copy of our 2021-22 yearbook using this system. Yearbooks are on sale for $32.00. Click this link for more information!

Parents wishing to use a traditional method for ordering yearbooks can contact Finance Secretary Theresa Jordan at [email protected] for information on paying with cash or a check. Checks should be made payable to Dana Middle School ASB.

Students can also use this system to pay for lost textbooks. Please contact Theresa Jordan ([email protected]) or Marta Thiele ([email protected]) with questions.
