All Parents To Complete School Opening Interest Survey by March 22nd

All parents must complete a new online preference survey by March 22, 2021. Survey directions are provided below. Families who do not complete the online survey will automatically be assigned to the Online Only model. Families wishing to change their initial choice at a later date will be accommodated based upon availability of space.

SDUSD Math Placement Process Update for Parents

The San Diego Unified School District traditionally administers a math placement test to 5th and 6th grade students in the spring for use with math placement the following year. The district has made the decision to not administer the test this Spring. Student placement recommendations will be made using current grades and teacher recommendations. The district will distribute a parent letter with additional information during the week of May 8th. State Standardized Testing Update - Date Change

The State of California is moving forward with standardized testing this Spring. Students will be able to take the test at school or at home. Students will need the necessary software on their computer to participate. Options are available for families who need a computer. 


The Interim is a practice test all students take. It helps them learn how the testing process works. The SBAC is the actual standardized test itself. Students must have the correct software on their computer prior to taking either test.

  • 3/25-3/26 – Math Interim assessment for students who have math during Q3 (now)
  • 4/5-4/9 – Math SBAC for students who have math during Q3
  • 5/6-5/7 – Math Interim assessment for students who have math during Q4 (next quarter)
  • 5/10-5/14 – ELA SBAC for all students and Math SBAC for students who have math during Q4
  • NEW -  The May testing window has been expanded to accommodate math testing for students who have Math during Q3

Social Emotional Support and Well-being Resource Now Available

On March 1st. Point Loma Cluster parents explored the concept of Social Emotional Well Being the role the Pandemic (and the related changes) may have upon us and our children. We learned healthy ways to support your own social emotional health and well-being. Experts from the SDUSD Mental Health Resource Center presented strategies for parents and share connections to the work taking place in our schools.

2021-22 PrimeTime Information For Parents

Beginning Monday, March 1 at 6:00 a.m. through Friday, April 9, 2021, 9:59 pm, all families with children in elementary, middle or K-8 schools (including transitional kindergarten) interested in participating in PrimeTime will have an opportunity to apply for the 2021-2022 school year. The PrimeTime Application will be available online by accessing the San Diego Unified School District’s website. All families must resubmit an application every school year including children currently participating in PrimeTime and children on the waitlist. To complete and submit the application online, parents will need internet access and an email address to create an InfoSnap account, if one doesn’t already exist. Additional information is available in the enclosed flyer  and on line at sandiegounified.org/primetime .

March 29th - Apr 2nd - Spring Break

A modified school schedule will resume on April 5th in order to accomodate preparation for Phase 2 Reopening. More information to follow.
