Dana Food Drive Benefits San Diego Food Bank

Our annual Dana food drive benefiting the San Diego Food Bank begins Monday, November 28 in period 1 classes. ASB students will drop off collection boxes to all period 1 classrooms.

Students should donate non-perishable items and deposit them into their period 1 collection box.  ASB will collect all donations from classrooms on Friday, December 9 when the food drive event wraps up. The period 1 class who donates the most items will win donuts for their entire class!

Last year, we were able to collect 1,571,888 lbs of food, which helped us provide 964,907 meals to those in need. That is an incredible impact and we couldn’t have done without your support!  Let's challenge ourselves to beat our donation from last year! Thanks for your support.

Save The Date - Jan. 11th - Parent Education Night - Helping Students With Anxiety

PL Cluster Parents are invited to attend a free informational presentation on January 11th from 5-7 PM. Andrew McPeak - co-author of Generation Z Unfiltered will share practical ways to help the most anxious generation of students navigate stress. See below for an excerpt from the presentation:

From school assignments and soccer practice, to school shootings and social media; today's kids are stressed out. For more than a decade, rising levels of anxiety and depression have led Generation Z into what today's psychologists call an "anxiety epidemic." In this timely session, we will uncover the greatest sources of stress for Generation Z and provide practical insights and proven techniques for helping them beat stress and take ownership of their life.

The event will be held at the PLNU Center located in Liberty Station. The first 200 families to arrive will receive a free copy of the book. This free event is sponsored by various parent association groups in the Point Loma cluster. More information to follow.
