The last day of the grading term will NOT change. Teachers closed their grade books for the first semester on the last day of the semester, January 21st. The extension will allow educators who are out ill during this time additional days to finalize their grades prior to the site tech storing them by February 4th for distribution.

Dana Middle Welcomes Afghan Refugees

San Diego, like many US cities, has received Afghan refugees including many school aged children. The Point Loma cluster has received students at all levels. We are excited to let you know that Point Loma High School is included and will be welcoming our new students next week.

We are excited because we know how amazing our community is, and we have this opportunity to work collectively together to support these students. These families are extremely grateful to be enrolling their children in SDUSD schools. These families are those who supported the United States efforts in Afghanistan. They gave up everything in their home country to start new lives here.

This information below is intended for schools but families may want to look at these resources if they want to know more about Afghan culture:

Please take a moment to speak with your children so they can help us welcome them into our community.
