How do I check out a book?
Students must have a “School Planner” with a barcode or student ID card to check out devices, textbooks or library books.

Am I responsible for books I damage?
The parent or guardian of a student is liable for any school district property loaned to the student and not returned (District Code 48909). Please do not lend a textbook, library book, laptop, or charger to another student. Do not share your password. Students and guardians of the student have one week from issuance to examine each textbook and laptop for damages not already noted at the time of checkout. When discovered, the item should be returned to the library. Should you fail to notify a library staff member of damages found within this period, you may be charged for a replacement. Please notify the library staff immediately when a textbook, library book or device is lost or damaged. Our District is required by law to collect money in payment for willful or negligent damage or loss of textbooks, instructional materials, library books, and devices (Administrative Code, Title 5, Section 9502). Donations for a replacement are to be arranged with our financial clerk.

When do I have to return my books?
Students are responsible for returning ALL items in June OR their last day of attendance at Dana.
